The New Book
So I'm working on the new book and it seems that it will be linked to the HH series. The time is after the series I've written and uses that world after the changes it will undergo. So far I've gotten the notes done and the final chapter's first draft is nearly done.
I think I like where this part of the series will go.
Only problem I'm having is that this book comes after the last three books I haven't yet written. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle this problem, but for now I'm letting the muse take me where it wants to go.

Highland Home Omnibus 1
I should have known when he walked into my life that things would never be the same. Hadn't I dreamed of him and the things he'd done before I was born? If only he weren't so fascinating, so beautiful, so much more than any other guy. Maybe then I could walk away.
Mairin Cote is a magnet for weird. Her dreams come true, she can see auras and her mother is in love with an angel. Now the monsters are finding her too. Vampires, demigods and werepanthers have flocked to this small town girl who must find a way to keep her family safe, love the man of her dreams, and navigate the shark-infested waters of Highland Home High School.
Captured Sun
My first kiss was going to be my last, but it was worth it. His cool lips, his sweet taste, they were my salvation. I would never regret it, no matter what happened.
Mairin Cote thought loving a vampire was hard, but losing him to others of his kind was worse. When the death toll in East Hampton points to a rampaging vampire, the vampires and werepanthers must form an uneasy alliance to stop the destruction. To save the love of her life, Mairin must decide if living life without Mathias is worth risking an eternity with him.
Seven Days
The pain was sharp and deep, but it was nothing compared to the anguish in Xavier's eyes. I wanted to tell him I would be okay, but the words wouldn't come. The pain kept them at bay and even if I could have spoken, I knew the words would be a lie.
Kerry Cote has a pretty normal life for a teenager. Of course normal is a relative term. Her sister dates a vampire and her boyfriend turns furry once a month, but that's not the problem. It isn't until she meets the father of the man she loves that her whole existence narrows to a mere seven days.
As a bonus, Eternal Sun, the short story of Mathias' transformation, is included at the end of this omnibus.
Are you ready for Seven Days?

A good beginning
Finding the notes for Soulfinder I have been searching for made today a good day. The fact that I have time to work on it for a while today makes it even better. I'm going to push everything else back and deal with just the positive today.
On a happy note
I found tbe.notes for Soulfinder I thought I had lost. That's a story that's been pushing at me lately, but I wanted those notes. Now I have them. Yeah for me. :)

Flying Slowly
Fly is on my mind again and going in a totally different direction. It's coming slowly...very, very slowly, but I think it will come together better this way. Wish me luck.

Things on my mind
I hate to admit it, but the fear is back. With the new job and the beginning of the semester (I teach college English), I haven't had time or brain power to write. When I'm not writing, the fear that the muse will permanently desert me is suffocating. The ideas are still there, but they're buried so deeply under work stuff that I can't seem to dredge them up. I know they'll come when they're ready. I have to keep that faith.

How cool is my life?
So now I have a job that feeds one of my addictions. I LOVE movies. Almost as much as I love books. I now get to see movies whenever I want for free. But honestly, that's not the best part. Right now I have two, double-side printed, professional prints of HP Deathly Hallows part 2 posters. I need to get them framed. I wish I could find affordable lighted frames to take advantage of the double-side printing.
Yes, I'm a geek and a nerd and I'm proud of it! How silly is it that those posters are the high point of my day today?
Hehe...my precious *pet, pet* LOL
Blurb: Cecilia Phoenix dreaded marriage, especially to Lord Fitzroy, and prayed for an escape, but when her brother was brought to her fresh from his defeat on the battle field, salvation was not what she expected to find in the angry countenance of Lord Aldere Wyke. Now they must find the strength to love and trust each other before their doubt destroys them both. Something running through my head...
"We can't leave her, brother," he said.
"We're not leaving her. I am."
The image with those words was powerful and painful. It was one man giving in to another in the matter of loving a woman. It was that same man choosing to leave rather than fight and destroy both his brother's life and the woman they loved.
I wanted to write this down because I'd love to work the idea into something at some time. I admit I dream pretty dramatically and this was likely just that kind of dream, but it's haunting me today.

What's in the Hopper
So, this is what I'm working on:
Fly--I need to make some major changes to this one to refocus it.
Soulfinder--I think I've found the right path for this one. MAJOR revision necessary before it will work or even go forward.
Moonlight Deception--this one knows where it needs to do, i just have to get there
The Sculptor--I'm excited about this idea, but my fuzzy brain isn't putting the words out with the images I see in my head.
Still need to do final edits on Seven Days, begin editing Banished Sun and work on Thorned Illusion.
I'm feeling a little ADD right now LOL.
If I wasn't also having trouble staying focused on reading, I might be prone to letting the fear take over that I just don't have anymore good writing in me. My inability to focus on anything for very long means it's not just writing and when it passes, I'll be right back in the saddle.

Praise for Fly
Fascinating - I've never read anything like it!
You set up the relationship between Olivia, her brother and their Grandma with skill. Having explained the background (the death of their parents) you introduce the special 'skills' that exist in the town of Knoxmeadow.
This story is something of an allegory - there are real towns where there is a ruling family, or group of people, because of their wealth and political power. Here their power is different but potent.
Your protrayal of the relationship between brother and sister, and their Grandma, is succinctly and clearly expressed. One immediately likes them - all three.
The scene that forces Olivia to reveal her particular skill is paced well, fast enough to create tension and make the reader want to read on, but it doesn't lose its power by rushing into the scene without due description.
It's an interesting and intriguing theme and you use good vocabulary - great adjectives.
More please.
Obviously, I'm stoked about that review! It certainly makes me feel like I need to finish Fly. I'm going to keep working. I hope you'll keep reading!

New book, probably series
New world, new hero and heroine, new kind of villain.
Fly: The First Knoxmeadow Novel has begun.
Oh, I finished Book 7 in the Highland Home, East Hampton, Midland Heights series. Books 8 and 9 are sketched out and I know where book 10 needs to go. It just got a little dark and very heavy, so I think that's why the Knoxmeadow novel ideas have come.
I'll see how it goes. If anyone knows of a good cover artist, let me know. I haven't found any photos I'm 100% sold on for the cover of Fly (as in mode of movement, not bug lol).
Wish me luck!

New Series
Madam Muse, is a fickle thing though, and while I'm struggling to sketch out Between Worlds, the idea for a new series came to me and the first book is sketched out.
Just at the Highland Home and East Hampton Trilogies intertwine with each other the Midland Heights books will touch the other trilogies at some point...likely coming to an end where Two Suns stops...giving the characters the place they need to be a part of Between Worlds.
There are other differences in these books from the first two trilogies, the most significant is the main character is a male. I hope you love Derek and root for him from page one. I know that even though I haven't yet written his tale, he will become as dear to me as the characters from Highland Home and East Hampton have.
Enjoy the cover and preview it gives you while I go off to get started on the last chapter so I can write the book :) (I write the last chapter of my books first, and then go back to the beginning).
